The Ministry of Health has confirmed the final names for the two new multi-profession regulatory colleges that will begin regulating health professionals of 11 current colleges on June 28, 2024.

One set of regulation changes reflect the final name for a new multi-profession college: the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC. This is the confirmed name for the college that will amalgamate:

• The College of Chiropractors of BC
• The College of Massage Therapists of BC
• The College of Naturopathic Physicians of BC
• The College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of BC.

Other regulation changes reflect the final name for a second multi-profession college: the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC. This is the confirmed name for the college that will amalgamate:

• The College of Dietitians of BC
• The College of Occupational Therapists of BC
• The College of Optometrists of BC
• The College of Opticians of BC
• The College of Physical Therapists of BC
• The College of Psychologists of BC
• The College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC.

All 11 existing colleges will continue to regulate health professionals until amalgamation (June 28, 2024).
