Black History Month opportunity to learn more about and celebrate Black Canadians
February is Black History Month, an opportunity for Canadians to honour the legacy of Black Canadians and their communities. The theme for 2021 is “The Future is Now.”
BCHR is pleased to share this article from the College of Pharmacists of BC (CPBC) recognizing the significance of this year’s Black History Month in the wake of the tragic events that took place in 2020. CPBC highlights the importance of taking a shared, collective stand against racism and the need for health professionals to self-educate on the unconscious or implicit biases – often rooted in history or culture – that exist within our health system.
